Saturday Six: Birthday Edition

Each weekend, I’ll share six cool finds. Some links may be referral/curator links.

In the spirit of my birthday weekend, this week’s Saturday Six is dedicated to the best thing a birthday has to offer: CAKE!

I originally wanted to do a cupcake-themed item round-up, but I had a surprisingly hard time finding enough items to share. If you find some cupcake things you love, send them my way!

Now let’s talk about cake!

This Ultimate Funfetti Layer Cake by Beth Cakes looks insanely delicious! Someone make me a vegan version, please!?

This vegan-friendly Oreo Brownie Bottom Funfetti Cake by Contentedness Cooking combines all my favorite flavors into one tasty-looking cake!

Are you guys sensing a theme here? This Funfetti and Cake Batter Ice Cream Cake by Your Homebased Mom offers the best of both worlds (and would be easy enough to veganize!).

OK, I guess I can switch it up briefly, but only for this BTS Cookie Dough Poke Cake by Something Swanky. Want to make it vegan? Try this recipe for vegan sweetened condensed milk.

Sweetapolita’s cakes are gorgeous, and this Birthday Party Ice Cream Cake is no exception! Plus, a whole section of her sprinkles shop is devoted to vegan sprinkles!

I love the combination of raspberry and chocolate! This Vegan Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Frosting by Fragrant Vanilla Cake looks so good and is sweetened with dates!

Tell me: What’s your favorite cake flavor? Do you like cake on your birthday or a different type of dessert?

Saturday Six: Luck o’ the Irish!

Each weekend, I’ll share six cool finds. Some links may be referral/curator links.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! I thought I’d share a round-up of some random St. Pat’s-inspired things (mostly food!). Whether you celebrate or not, hope you have a great weekend!

Every year, we try to watch the Boondock Saint movies. The first is a true cult classic, but the second one is good for a laugh! // image via Kiss My Wonder Woman
Shameless self-promotion, but this awesome vintage t-shirt is one of the many items for sale in my Etsy shop, Sofa King Awesome Vintage! It’s perfect for St. Pat’s.
How about starting your day with an Irish Coffee? Iced Irish Whiskey Coffees with Whiskey Syrup and Whipped Coconut Cream, by How Sweet Eats.
Follow up your coffee with these Guinness Waffles by Honestly Yum.
We can’t forget dessert! I no longer eat marshmallows, but I used to love Lucky Charms. How Sweet Eats also has a number of recipes featuring the magically delicious cereal on her blog, including this One Bowl Whiskey Chocolate Fudge Cake.
Wash it all down this Stout Hot Chocolate (and probably a green beer or two). I am intrigued by this recipe by Floating Kitchen. I have hot chocolate every night. The recipe adds a chocolate stout for the ultimate night cap!

BONUS! To get you in the spirit, here’s my St. Patrick’s Day playlist on Spotify!

Catch ya on the flip side…

Tell me: Do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Are there any traditions that you follow? Do you have any songs to add to the playlist?
